Mr. Leighton was kind enough to come in and share his planting skills and expertise with my Kindergarten. Our tomato plants had grown large enough to need to be replanted into their own containers. Mr. Leighton talked to the children about being gentle with the seedlings and what plants need to continue to grow. We played in the dirt and separated seedlings and finally gave them all new homes. We were all smiles when we were done! Thank you Mr. Leighton!
We collected over 600 milk cartons for our planting project, but before we planted we had a lesson in Math using our milk cartons. Each of us collected 10 cartons. We added with them and subtracted with them. We even graph them to see how many white milk and how many chocolate milk we had in all. We had many more chocolate milk cartons than white! I guess you could say chocolate is our favorite! |
